CIRCLE has recently helped it’s founding partner Flamingo Land to another conservation award.

A silver David Bellamy Conservation Award was first awarded to Flamingo Land in 2010, but following the involvement of CIRCLE, the park has been awarded gold every year since, in recognition of its long-term efforts to conserve the natural world.

Prof. David Bellamy said, “I am particularly impressed by the work you have done to improve your woodland area and… that you have produced a biodiversity action plan… and appointed a sustainability champion… You should be very proud of the work you have done to help Britain’s wildlife…”

However, the award is very much seen as recognition of ongoing efforts rather than achievement of complete biodiversity conservation, or environmental sustainability. More work is planned for the year ahead in both of these areas.
